Temporary Purchasing Clerk
Location: Spalding
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (flexibility available)
Duration: Temporary for four weeks, potential to extend.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Clerk to provide temporary cover within a busy engineering environment. This is a varied role that requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage purchasing tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
*Handle all purchasing activities, including obtaining quotes and placing orders.
*Answer incoming calls and liaise with suppliers and customers.
*Update spreadsheets and maintain accurate records.
*Chase suppliers for order updates and ensure timely delivery.
*Work closely with the team to ensure correct items are ordered.
*Greet visitors and manage sign-in procedures.
*General administrative duties using multiple software systems (training provided).
Requirements
*Previous office experience is essential.
*Purchasing experience is highly desirable.
*Strong IT skills and confident phone manner.
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a small office team.
