Accounts Officer
Job Type: Part-time to Full-time (30-37.5 hours per week)
Location: South Oxfordshire
Salary: Up to £31,000 per annum FTE, depending on Experience
Reed Accountancy delighted to be partnering with a South Oxfordshire business who are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Officer to join their friendly Accounts team. This role offers a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with solid accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with Xero. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day financial operations within the Purchase Ledger and provide support to the Sales Ledger and Accounts Coordinator.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Ensure accurate management of the Purchase Ledger, including posting supplier invoices to Xero with correct approval and coding, processing weekly payments to suppliers and staff expenses, reconciling supplier statements, and maintaining supplier records on Xero.
*Manage daily bank transactions, processing supplier payments and client receipts on Xero.
*Reconcile all bank accounts on Xero.
*Manage credit card posting and reconciliations on Xero.
*Support the Accounts Coordinator with month-end and year-end tasks such as journals and reporting.
*Manage the accounts email inbox and liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams regarding financial queries when required.
*Provide support to the sales ledger, including posting and reconciling petty cash, credit control, and providing change to branches when required.
*Attend team and practice meetings as necessary.
*Undertake any other projects as requested by your Team Leader.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience as an Accounts Officer or similar role.
*Minimum qualification of AAT Level 3 or equivalent.
*Proficiency in the use of Xero, Microsoft Excel, and other MS Office applications.
*Thorough, with a keen eye for detail.
*Comfortable with reviewing financial data and able to problem solve and make decisions.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
*Excellent communication and social skills.
