Audit Manager
*Location: Brighton area
*Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
*Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Reed Brighton is working with a top 20 accountancy firm in the UK, looking to add an Audit Manager on to their growing team who are based in the Brighton area.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors.
*Oversee the audit process from planning to completion, ensuring the right team is assigned to each assignment.
*Undertake non-audit assignments, including accounts preparation under UK GAAP.
*Prepare and manage jobs to meaningful and realistic budgets.
*Utilize relevant software fully and demonstrate advanced technical knowledge in your specialist area.
*Understand client businesses to manage jobs effectively, ensuring client expectations and deadlines are met.
*Influence the management and development of the Audit team and trainees, conducting regular reviews and coordinating on-the-job training.
*Identify additional service needs of clients and potential cross-selling opportunities.
*Assist in the preparation of proposals and business development with new clients.
*Share best practices and ideas within the team for process improvement.
*Communicate effectively with clients both verbally and in writing.
*Report directly to Partners on planning and progress of jobs.
*Stay informed about legislative, technical, and regulatory changes and share knowledge within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*ACA/ACCA Qualified.
*Substantial recent experience in an Audit role with advanced technical knowledge of Audit & Accounting standards.
*Experience managing your own portfolio or demonstrating readiness to do so.
*Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
*Knowledge of accounting systems and control environments within a finance function.
*Working knowledge of accounting software including Sage and Xero; previous use of CCH and Caseware is advantageous.
*Strong Excel skills.
*Ability to travel to client sites, hence a driving license or access to transport is required.
*Professional presentation and work ethic.
*Ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
