Job Description:
School Receptionist
Location: SW London, Temp to Perm, Term Time Only, £14.50 per hour
8am-4pm, Monday to Friday Starting first week of January 2026 (39 weeks per year)
We are seeking a dedicated School Receptionist to join our clients team on a temporary to permanent basis, starting in January 2026. This role is term time only and based in SW London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk and providing administrative support across the school.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage reception during school hours and special events, including evening functions, with compensation through time in lieu or overtime.
*Greet and assist visitors, students, and staff, ensuring a welcoming environment.
*Oversee the receipt and distribution of deliveries and handle communications through the school’s main email account.
*Address inquiries from parents and visitors, adhering to school protocols.
*Maintain a tidy and inviting reception area and coordinate the booking and preparation of meeting rooms.
*Manage visitor check-ins and security protocols, including the issuance of visitor badges and staff ID cards.
First Aid Duties:
*Attend to students needing medical attention and provide first aid as required.
*Coordinate with the welfare officer to support students with health concerns.
Administrator Duties:
*Provide administrative support to senior staff and department heads as needed.
*Facilitate the organization of school-wide events and manage communications for such events.
*Keep the school calendar up-to-date and support the coordination of school trips.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above) - Essential
*Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook - Essential
*Experienced in using SIMS database and other relevant systems - Essential
*Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English - Essential
*Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively - Essential
*A recognized first aid qualification - Desirable
