Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be partnering with a large specialist manufacturing business based in Sheffield. Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to lead their shop-floor operations, overseeing the entire process of creating goods, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high standards for quality, safety, and delivery.
Duties of the role: *Oversee day-to-day production activities, managing a large team of Production Supervisors and skilled Operatives.
*Plan and schedule production to ensure orders are delivered on time and in full (OTIF)
*Champion Lean / CI initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and drive cost savings
*Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
*Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain to resolve production bottlenecks - root cause analysis
*Monitor KPIs and generate performance reports to senior leadership
*Develop and coach the production team to build capability and ownership
Experienced required: *Proven production management experience in a large, fast paced manufacturing environment (machining preferred)
*Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing / CI methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, root cause analysis) - Lean Six Sigma qualifications preferred
*Excellent leadership and people management skills — you can motivate and develop a team
*Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
*Experience of working with production planning systems (ERP / MRP) and Microsoft Office
*A solid commitment to health and safety standards, ideally with qualifications (IOSH / NEBOSH)
