Qualified Finance Manager, Guildford, to £65k
We are seeking an experienced qualified accountant to become Finance Manager / Head of Finance at a leading private school in Guildford and play a key role in the next chapter of it’s growth journey. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Operations, this is a pivotal position that blends hands-on accounting with strategic financial planning and analysis. You will oversee all financial systems and processes across the group of schools, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
What you’ll do:
*Lead and develop a skilled Finance team of 3, providing guidance and support.
*Maintain robust internal controls, ensuring transactional accuracy and timely reconciliations.
*Deliver high-quality financial reporting, management accounts, and analysis to support decision-making.
*Oversee payroll, pensions, and compliance processes.
*Drive improvements in financial systems and processes to support our ambitious plans.
What we’re looking for:
*A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
*Proven experience in financial reporting, management accounts, and internal controls.
*Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
*Adaptability and a proactive approach to meet the evolving needs of the schools.
*Experience in education or charity accounting is desirable but not essential.
