Interim Finance Manager – 9 Month FTC
Location: Manchester/Hybrid
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (9 months)
Hours: 36.5 per week
Salary: Up to £56,500 per annum
Benefits: Excellent package including 32 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Qualified Finance Manager to join a dynamic finance team within a large, complex organisation on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a real impact during a period of significant change.
You will lead a small finance team currently comprising of part qualified and qualified accountants and report directly to the Finance Director.
You will provide high-level financial oversight, ensure robust controls, and partner with commercial units across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
*Act as a trusted financial advisor to senior stakeholders, providing insight, challenge, and guidance on budgets, forecasts, and performance.
*Support the development of new initiatives and projects by preparing robust financial analysis and business cases.
*Oversee financial management and reporting for key funding streams and commercial activities, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.
*Manage and monitor budgets, offering training and support to stakeholders on financial processes and interpretation.
*Coordinate month-end, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles, delivering accurate and timely information to leadership teams.
*Identify financial risks and opportunities, recommending effective solutions to mitigate or capitalize on them.
*Maintain and adapt financial structures and coding systems to meet evolving business needs.
*Prepare external financial reports and liaise with partners or stakeholders as required.
*Represent the finance function in meetings, committees, and working groups, and deputize for senior finance leaders when necessary.
Candidate Requirements
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) essential.
*Proven experience in a similar role in the UK in a complex organisation/education setting
*Strong accounting systems skills plus advanced excel
*Available to start immediately and full right to work in the UK with no restrictions - no sponsorship available
*Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
*Ability to quickly understand processes and lead proactively.
