Investigation Officer

Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is seeking a committed and experienced former Detective to join our team on a temporary basis as an Investigation Officer. This role is crucial in supporting security service priority investigations and investigating crimes within national, regional, and force counter-terrorism and extremism control strategies.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
*Conduct thorough investigations into terrorism-related offences aiming to secure successful prosecutions.
*Provide support to security service priority investigations as required.
*Investigate crimes falling within national, regional, and force counter-terrorism and extremism control strategies.
*Attend crime scenes, make initial enquiries, carry out fast track actions to establish facts, and preserve evidence.
*Interview witnesses and suspects, take statements, and gather intelligence.
*Search premises related to terrorism or other offences within the remit of CTPNW.
*Act as team leader in major incident investigations and manage outside enquiry teams.
*Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards, including CPIA, RIPA, DPA, and HRA.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Must be a former Detective with experience in counter-terrorism or related fields.
*Proven ability to conduct detailed investigations and manage complex criminal cases.
*Strong knowledge of legal procedures and legislation related to counter-terrorism.
*Excellent communication and leadership skills.
*Must be a UK National; dual nationals may be considered under approved circumstances.
*Willingness to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) to Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level, and potentially Developed Vetting (DV) once in post.
