Job Description:
Food Technician – Short-Term Cover (Reading)
A secondary school in Reading is seeking an experienced Food Technician to join their team for a short-term assignment, covering staff absence for several weeks.
The school values practical learning and is looking for someone who can help maintain the smooth running of their Food Technology department.
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist the Food Technology department with lesson preparation and organisation.
*Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical lessons.
*Maintain high standards of hygiene and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
*Support the teacher during practical sessions and help students where appropriate.
*Clean and store equipment after lessons, ensuring the classroom is ready for the next session.
Requirements:
*Previous experience as a Food Technician or in a similar role within a school setting.
*Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Reliable, organised, and able to adapt quickly to a busy school environment.
