*Hourly Rate: £13.85 PAYE

*Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (Flexible days, Monday to Saturday with a day off during the week with shift work earlies starting at 9am and lates finishing at 8pm)

Join the team at the national library in Euston as a Reading Room Security Officer. This role is crucial in maintaining the security and integrity of the national library collection, ensuring a safe and secure environment for readers, visitors, and staff at the St Pancras Reading Rooms.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Actively participate in the overall operation of the St Pancras Reading Rooms, collaborating with various teams to uphold high standards of customer service.
*Serve as the first point of contact for all Reading Room users, delivering exceptional customer service and embodying the library’s core values.
*Protect the national collection from potential threats such as theft, damage, or loss.
*Monitor the Reading Room environment, ensuring that security protocols are adhered to by all visitors and staff.
*Respond promptly to any security concerns or incidents within the Reading Rooms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in face-to-face retail or customer service roles is highly beneficial.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of visitors.
*Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing schedules.
*A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well under pressure.
