Highway Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Highway Maintenance Manager to oversee and deliver highway maintenance and gulley cleansing operations. This role involves ensuring effective planning, programming, and execution of works in compliance with statutory obligations, safety standards, and best practices.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Oversee the planning, programming, and delivery of highway maintenance and gulley cleansing operations.
*Manage teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.
*Monitor and control budgets, ensuring compliance with financial and contractual requirements.
*Develop and implement maintenance schedules for highways and drainage assets.
*Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, CDM regulations, and street works requirements.
*Liaise with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to coordinate works and resolve issues.
*Prepare reports, performance data, and contribute to business cases for service improvements.
*Promote equality, diversity, and sustainability in service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience managing highway maintenance and gulley cleansing operations.
*Strong knowledge of planning and programming maintenance works.
*Ability to manage budgets and supplier performance effectively.
*Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
*Detailed understanding of health and safety, CDM, and street works legislation.
*Proficient in MS Office and relevant asset management systems.
*Extensive experience in highway maintenance management.
*Knowledge of local authority procedures and political sensitivities.
*Relevant technical or management qualifications (desirable).
