Role: Deep Hole Borer
Location: Sheffield
Shift Pattern: Days (Mon - Fri) 6.00am-2.30pm / Nights (Mon-Thurs) 06.00pm - 04.00am
Salary: Competitive DOE
Responsibilities:
*Set and operate deep hole boring machines to produce high-precision components
*Work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications
*Use precision measuring tools to ensure components meet tight tolerances
*Perform routine maintenance and fault-finding on machinery
*Adhere to health & safety and quality standards at all times
*Communicate effectively with engineering and production teams to support continuous improvement
Requirements:
*Proven experience in deep hole boring and precision machining
*Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
*Skilled in the use of hand tools and measurement equipment
*Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
*Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
*NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
*Experience with CNC machining and programming (advantageous)
