Financial Accountant - E-Commerce Company - Paying £55,000 - £60,000 - Hybrid Role (3 Days in Office)

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support a Group Finance function for a high end Ecommerce business.

In this role, you will assist with the processing, monitoring, and compliance of indirect tax, corporation tax, and customs duties across the organisation. You will work closely with the Tax Manager and contribute to ensuring accurate and timely tax-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
*Support the preparation and submission of indirect tax, corporation tax, and customs duty returns
*Monitor tax compliance activities and maintain accurate financial records
*Assist in investigating and resolving tax-related queries and issues
*Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation
*Analyse and review financial data, identifying areas requiring further investigation
*Contribute to continuous improvement in tax and accounting processes
*Support year-end and month-end tax accounting processes, including journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
*Assist with the calculation and posting of tax accruals and provisions
*Maintain up-to-date records for customs duty, ensuring accurate classification and documentation for cross-border transactions
*Liaise with the finance team to ensure transactional accuracy in the ERP system for VAT, duty, and tax-sensitive entries
*Prepare internal reports and summaries to support decision-making by finance leadership
*Participate in tax risk assessments and contribute to strengthening internal controls
*Support ad-hoc tax projects, system improvements, and process automation initiatives
Required Requirements:
*Must be recently ACCA/ACA qualified
*Solid technical experience gained within a financial accounting team, audit firm, or tax department
*Proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors
*Strong foundation in financial accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP), Tax, and VAT
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify root causes of issues
*Skilled in handling and manipulating large data sets
*Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Excel, with the ability to work confidently with ERP systems
*Ability to quickly absorb and understand new technical concepts
*Effective communication skills with the ability to build rapport across teams
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Strong analytical abilities, including reviewing and validating own work
