Job Description:
SEN English Teacher
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a warm, welcoming SEN school in Kingston that supports children with moderate learning difficulties. The school is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join their team from January, teaching KS3 and KS4 within a supportive and friendly environment.
Role: SEN English Teacher
Location: Kingston
Salary: M1-M6 based on experience
Contract: January 2026 to July 2026
Working hours: Full time, school hours, term time only
Key stages: KS3 and KS4 English
Class size: Approximately 10 children
Qualifications: QTS required (Primary or Secondary trained)
SEN experience: Not essential; open, adaptable teachers with a passion for SEN encouraged
Transport: Accessible by car, local buses and trains
Teacher compliance required:
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Right to work in the UK
* Two recent teaching-related references
* Full, up-to-date CV
* Proof of address and photo ID
* Teaching qualification and QTS documentation
* Overseas police checks if applicable
* Safeguarding training (Tradewind can provide this)
The ideal SEN English teacher will:
* Be open, patient and passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs
* Have strong behaviour management and a nurturing approach
* Be adaptable and able to differentiate lessons effectively
* Build positive relationships with students, staff and families
* Bring creativity and encouragement to every lesson
* Maintain high expectations while providing a supportive learning environment
