Job Description:
Strategic Market Manager
*Contract Duration: 12 months
*Job Type: Full time (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
*Location: Nr Warrington
*Day rate: £300-£358 per day Via Umbrella (inside IR35)
We are seeking two Strategic Market Managers for a 12-month contract. The role involves leading business-critical and medium to high spend categories, operating a full business partnering model with key stakeholders, and maximising savings and benefits delivery. It’s a supportive and exciting department!
Day-to-day of the role:
*Develop Integrated Market Strategies for complex, medium to high spend categories with significant business impact, influencing total contracted spend up to £300m.
*Create and sustain value-based relationships with relevant stakeholders at the Executive and Heads of levels, supporting the integration of category strategies.
*Establish a collaborative working environment with stakeholders to transition Integrated Market Strategies to relevant execution phases.
*Provide specialist market management advice, introduce innovations, and conduct external category benchmark assessments.
*Develop a Total Cost of Ownership market-based model to deliver full cost lifecycle value.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Preferably degree educated with a relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g., CIPS, RICS, MBA, MSc).
*Significant experience in leading business-critical spend categories.
*Proven senior-level stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
*Knowledge of key category management processes, tools, and methodologies.
*Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
*Ability to use direct and indirect influencing strategies effectively.
*Demonstrable problem-solving experience in large, complex organisations.
*Experience with cross-functional collaborative working methods.
*Project management and team management experience are advantageous.
