Job Description:
Applications Engineer A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Applications or Technical Engineer to join a growing Technical & Modifications Department in a business critical role. This position combines hands-on engineering expertise, customer-focused technical support, and the planning and management of product modifications (design & development).
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality engineering solutions, support product development and after-sales activities, and ensure efficient, timely completion of customer modifications. This role requires strong problem-solving ability, excellent communication skills, and preferably, a solid understanding of motors.
Applications Engineer Key Responsibilities * Perform electrical and mechanical calculations using spreadsheets.

* Develop proficiency with CAD software to create 2D and 3D drawings.

* Support internal and external sales teams and the Modifications Department with daily technical activity.

* Create product items, BOMs, documentation, type test certificates, datasheets, and outline drawings.

* Liaise with suppliers to produce specifications, assist with technical queries, and support fault analysis.

* Provide technical guidance to customers for both new products and after-sales support.

* Apply strong knowledge of motors and motor design..

* Oversee capacity planning, team workload, and day-to-day operations within the modifications team.



Applications Engineer Qualifications & Skills * Strong understanding and practical experience with AC motors (desirable)

* Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience.

* Excellent attention to detail with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.

* Strong organisational and planning capability, particularly relating to modification workflows.

* Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.

* Previous team leadership or management experience is desirable.

* Eager to learn and develop new skills.

* Strong IT skills, especially Excel; experience using SAP is an advantage.

Training & Development * Technical and practical training to support your ongoing development.

* Training in managing the Modifications Department.

* Continuous mentorship from experienced technical professionals.
