Information Advice and Guidance Worker (IAG)
Salary: Up to £28,000
Contract: Full-time
Location: Salford
Reed Further Education are recruiting several Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) Workers, delivering tailored support to prison-based customers and guiding them toward sustainable employment and learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide personalised IAG that promotes career development, independence, and long-term progression.
• Manage a diverse caseload, meeting performance targets focused on employment and education outcomes.
• Use current labour market intelligence and employer networks to identify meaningful job opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with prison staff, governors, and partner agencies to maintain a steady flow of eligible customers.
• Deliver flexible support through Virtual Campus, group workshops, and one-to-one sessions.
• Create clear, actionable plans for each customer, ensuring engagement and satisfaction benchmarks are met.
• Collaborate with mainstream services (e.g., National Careers Service) to track outcomes and streamline evidence collection.
• Comply with Prison Service DPS contract requirements and exceed standards set by the Skills Funding Agency, Ofsted, and Matrix.
About You
• NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Advice & Guidance, DipCG, or equivalent (or commitment to achieve CDI Licence to Practise).
• Proven ability to thrive in a target-driven environment and deliver positive outcomes.
• Skilled in delivering high-quality one-to-one and group IAG sessions (Grade 2 standard or above).
• Confident in using digital platforms, including Virtual Campus, to provide accessible services.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Recent experience delivering employment or learning outcomes in a custodial or similar performance-driven setting.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals in custody or with previous offending histories.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
