Job Description:
I’m partnering with a highly respected International law firm known for its long-standing reputation in the intellectual property space. The team operates at the forefront of brand protection, advising a wide-ranging client base across multiple sectors on the development, enforcement and commercialisation of valuable brand assets. With a collaborative structure and a genuinely integrated IP offering, the firm is well-regarded for delivering strategic, forward-thinking advice and maintaining strong relationships with key industry bodies and international IP authorities.
The Role
This opportunity sits within a dedicated soft IP team handling a broad portfolio of advisory and contentious matters relating to trade marks, designs and copyright. You will work closely with Partners and colleagues across the wider IP and innovation groups, contributing to ongoing client projects and supporting long-term brand strategies. The position offers genuine involvement in firm-wide initiatives, including business development, client engagement and knowledge sharing.
Key Responsibilities
*Advising on a varied mix of soft IP work, including clearance, protection, enforcement and disputes
*Managing day-to-day brand portfolios, including global filing, prosecution and maintenance
*Handling contentious registry matters before the UKIPO and other international IP offices
*Supporting senior lawyers on complex advisory matters and litigation-related tasks
*Contributing to business development, training and broader departmental initiatives
*Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and providing commercially aligned guidance
Requirements
*2-4 years’ PQE within an IP-focused role in private practice
*Solid experience in trade mark and design matters, including strategy, clearance and enforcement
*Familiarity with UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO processes
*Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
*Confident managing a varied workload and maintaining excellent communication with colleagues and clients
*A collaborative approach with the ability to work independently when required
*Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
*Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business development
*Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
