Job Description:
Corporate Improvement and Risk Officer
*Hourly Pay: From £22.35 PAYE
*Location: Within the borough (requires travel)
*Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a Corporate Improvement and Risk Officer to support our client, a local authority, by developing policies and strategies, managing performance, and overseeing corporate risk. This role is crucial in improving services and community cohesion, leading projects, and ensuring good governance across the council.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide expert advice and manage complex cases related to policy and risk.
*Lead and support staff through training, quality checks, and direct supervision.
*Research, review, and implement policies and best practices to enhance service delivery.
*Manage performance and resources efficiently across various projects.
*Act as a champion for continuous service improvement and innovation.
*Organise and chair meetings and working groups to foster collaboration and effective communication.
*Ensure effective budget management and financial accountability.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
*Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for senior managers and elected members.
*Handle customer complaints and queries professionally and tactfully.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Supervisory experience in performance management and service improvement.
*Proven track record of leading projects aimed at redesigning services for better outcomes.
*Strong analytical skills with experience in analyzing and presenting complex data.
*Competence in managing people through organizational changes.
*Proficiency in using IT tools for creating reports and presentations.
*Experience in planning and implementing risk management processes.
*High-level support skills to challenge and assist senior managers.
*Level 7 qualification (Postgraduate level) or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Skills Required:
*Communication: Ability to explain complex information clearly and produce detailed reports.
*Decision Making: Capable of making informed decisions on complex issues considering multiple factors.
*Problem Solving: Analyze complex problems and develop innovative and effective solutions.
