This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative and creative environment, where your attention to detail and financial expertise will directly support the success of both the business and its clients. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring robust financial processes, accurate reporting, and effective cash flow management within a dynamic property portfolio. * Prepare and execute regular payment runs in line with company policies, ensuring timely settlement of liabilities across multiple properties.
* Maintain organised documentation for all financial activities, supporting audit readiness and compliance with internal controls.
* Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes by entering data accurately and completing assigned tasks promptly to ensure reliable financial reporting.
* Prepare detailed overhead forecasts to support cost control initiatives and strategic planning for each property asset under management.
* Collaborate closely with project teams to forecast revenue streams, aligning projections with project milestones and pipeline visibility.
* Manage credit control procedures by maintaining regular contact with tenants or clients to ensure prompt receipt of payments and proactively addressing overdue accounts.
* Monitor aged debtors reports, escalating issues as necessary while maintaining positive relationships throughout the billing and collection cycle.
* Support the production of monthly management accounts by reconciling balance sheet accounts and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
* Oversee the billing cycle for all managed properties, ensuring fees and service charges are invoiced accurately according to contractual agreements.
The Ideal Candidate:
* A minimum of 1 - 3 years’ experience in a finance or accounting support role within property or related sectors is essential for this position.
* Strong numerical aptitude combined with exceptional attention to detail ensures accuracy across all aspects of transaction processing and reporting.
* Excellent organisational skills paired with effective time-management abilities enable you to handle multiple deadlines reliably within a busy environment.
* Outstanding communication skills allow you to build rapport with clients, tenants, colleagues, and senior stakeholders alike while supporting collaborative outcomes.
* Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero or similar platforms is required; familiarity with property management systems would be advantageous.
* Advanced Excel or Google Sheets capabilities - including formulas and data analysis - are necessary for preparing forecasts and analysing key metrics.
* A solid understanding of basic accounting principles alongside practical bookkeeping experience supports your ability to reconcile accounts efficiently.
* Experience managing credit control processes as well as payment processing is highly desirable for this role.
* A degree or qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field is preferred; working towards AAT or similar certification would be beneficial.
* Personal attributes such as reliability under pressure, eagerness to learn new skills, professionalism in all interactions, and a positive attitude towards teamwork are highly valued.
