Contract: Term-time only
Hours: 08:45 - 15:15, Monday - Friday

Milk Education is partnering with this SEND provision to recruit a Nurture Group Assistant to join their supportive and dedicated team.
About the school... This purpose-built SEND school supports children aged 4 to 11 with a range of complex needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, communication differences, sensory processing needs, and cognitive learning difficulties.

Role: Nurture Group Assistant In this role, you will work closely with the Nurture Lead, Class Teachers, and wider school team to support pupils’ emotional regulation, social development, and engagement in learning - particularly children with a diagnosis of autism who may present with dysregulated or distressed behaviours.
Key Responsibilities * Follow all school policies and safeguarding procedures

* Support pupils within the Nurture Group and mainstream classes depending on need

* Assist pupils with emotional regulation, co-regulation, and wellbeing routines

* Implement nurture-based activities and small-group interventions

* Support therapeutic practices embedded within the curriculum, using sensory rooms, calm spaces, rebound therapy and creative therapies to enhance emotional and cognitive development

* Promote positive behaviours using consistent, nurturing strategies

* Build safe, trusting relationships that help pupils feel confident and secure

* Monitor and report on pupil progress, emotional development, and behaviour

Essential Criteria (Non-Negotiables) * Recent, relevant experience supporting children or young people with autism, SEMH needs, or additional learning needs

* Confidence supporting children who may display dysregulated behaviour

* Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent when supporting distressed pupils

* Strong communication skills and abilit
