Job Description:
Vehicle Technician
*Job Type: Full-time
*Location: Norwich
*Salary: Competitive
We are seeking a dedicated Vehicle Technician to act as an ambassador of our values, delivering high-quality service and repair work in accordance with both Company and Manufacturer standards. This role is ideal for someone committed to providing exceptional customer satisfaction and working efficiently within set timeframes.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Carry out vehicle repair and service work competently and within the time guidelines provided by the Company, Manufacturer, or as directed by a Line Manager.
*Maintain accurate and detailed records of work undertaken, including time taken to complete each task.
*Liaise with Service Advisors and Workshop Control to ensure informed diagnoses are made on each vehicle, facilitating clear communication of rectification work required to customers.
*Directly communicate with customers when appropriate, providing detailed, technical information in an understandable manner, ensuring they recognise the value for money.
*Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work area, adhering to Company standards and Health and Safety regulations.
*Identify and report opportunities for additional work on each vehicle serviced.
*Ensure careful handling of customers’ vehicles, using appropriate protection to keep cars clean and undamaged.
*Manage parts for Warranty claims, ensuring they are returned clean, in Manufacturer packaging, and labelled correctly.
*Continuously develop personal skill levels in all aspects of vehicle repair, service, and maintenance.
*Utilise special tools and test equipment to enhance work efficiency.
*Participate actively in team meetings, share knowledge and best practices, and mentor Apprentice Technicians when appropriate.
*Comply with the Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and adhere to manufacturer-specific requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician.
*Strong understanding of automotive systems and the ability to use diagnostic equipment.
*Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex information clearly to customers.
*Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*A proactive approach to learning and skill development.
*Relevant certifications in automotive repair and maintenance.
