Job Description:
Job Title: SEN PE Teaching Assistant
Location: Chatham, Kent
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Ready to make a real impact?
We’re looking for a confident, proactive SEN PE Teaching Assistant who thrives on challenge and is passionate about helping students with complex needs succeed—especially when it comes to behaviour.
This is a hands-on role in a specialist setting where physical education is used not just to build fitness, but to boost confidence, regulate emotions, and develop positive behaviours. You’ll be part of a team that believes every child deserves to feel successful, supported, and safe.
What You’ll Be Doing:
*Supporting students with SEN and behavioural needs during PE lessons and structured physical activities.
*Helping to de-escalate challenging behaviour and promote positive engagement.
*Working closely with the PE lead and behaviour team to tailor activities to individual needs.
*Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage participation and progress.
*Creating a calm, structured environment where students can thrive.
What We’re Looking For:
*Experience working with children with SEN and behavioural challenges.
*A calm, resilient approach and excellent behaviour management skills.
*A genuine passion for physical education and inclusive learning.
*Team player with strong communication and a sense of humour.
*Relevant training or qualifications in SEN, PE, or behaviour support are a bonus—but attitude is everything.
What You’ll Get:
*A supportive, experienced team who’ve got your back.
*Ongoing training in behaviour strategies and SEN support.
*A chance to make a lasting difference every single day.
*A dynamic, rewarding role where no two days are the same.
If you’re ready to bring energy, empathy, and structure to a role that really matters—apply now.
