Location: Bromley, Kent.
Reports to: Head of Finance.
Company: Property & Construction Company.
Salary Range : £45,000-£50,000
Reed Accountancy & Finance are currently working with a property development business, who are experiencing high growth, and are moving into their next phase of expansion. They have approached Reed to help and support them with their search to hire a new Finance Manager, who will report directly to the Head of Finance and work within a dedicated team of 3. Our client is based out of an office in Central Bromley and do have a preference to candidates who live within a short distance of their office.
As the newly hired Finance Manager you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and effective cash flow management across the business. This is a key role that combines financial control with commercial insight, and you will work closely with both the Head of Finance, and Directors and support decision making and support their business growth.
As the new Finance Manager your duties and responsibilities will include :
*Oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations and reporting.
*Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of management accounts.
*Manage profit and loss reporting and provide insightful analysis to support business performance.
*Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
*Manage one offshore finance assistant, providing support, structure, and oversight.
*Lead cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting to support business planning and investment.
*Review and approve monthly payroll submissions.
*Review and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
*Conduct VAT and customs duty research.
*Manage budgets and project costings for operational service and equipment projects.
*Maintain oversight of stock pricing, perform margin analysis, and support pricing strategy.
*Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis and carry out ad-hoc finance duties to support Directors and business initiatives.
*Build and maintain strong working relationships with Directors, operational teams, and external partners.
*Support the implementation and continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.
Your skillsets and previous experience will include :
*Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
*Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar role within a growing business.
*Strong understanding of Xero accounting software, but other system knowledge will be considered.
*Open to sector experience.
*Strong analytical and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the business.
*Proactive, adaptable, and excited by the opportunity to grow a finance team and contribute to a scaling organisation.
