Year 2 Class Teacher
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Start Date: January 2026
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Class Teacher to join our friendly, nurturing primary school community in Hemel Hempstead. This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced teacher or a confident ECT looking to develop their teaching career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
You’ll be responsible for delivering a creative, inclusive, and engaging curriculum to our Year 2 pupils, helping them build the confidence and skills they need for the next stage of their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities
*Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum for Key Stage 1
*Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
*Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and support
*Work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues to ensure every child thrives
*Communicate effectively with parents and carers, maintaining strong home-school links
*Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular opportunities and school events
What We’re Looking For
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
*Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, ideally with Year 2 experience
*Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
*A creative, child-centred approach to teaching and learning
*A positive, proactive, and team-focused attitude
