Job Description:
An experienced Production Designer is needed to support the Content Design team at a leading global technology company, creating visually engaging content for a digital books platform that helps readers find and enjoy their next favourite book.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days based on site in London. This is an initial 3-4 month contract with an immediate start.
What You’ll Do
* Design and adapt key artwork for features, curated collections, and promotional campaigns.
* Collaborate closely with art directors, creative producers, and editorial teams to bring campaigns to life.
* Create visually engaging presentations for partners and stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain design systems and templates for consistent, scalable production.
* Document workflows, maintain style guides, and share best practices with the team.
* Ensure all design assets meet the highest quality standards before publication.
* Manage and maintain large visual asset libraries, ensuring consistency and accessibility.
What We’re Looking For * Proven experience in creative marketing design, ideally in book publishing, magazines, or digital retail platforms.
* Advanced skills in typography, colour theory, and visual hierarchy.
* Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, with strong focus on Photoshop for cover art adaptation.
* Strong experience in illustrated asset creation, adaptation, and asset management.
* Experience creating design for literary retail platforms, including web and point-of-sale (POS) environments.
* Ability to create and maintain cohesive visual systems across multiple formats.
* Detail-oriented with excellent file-naming, workflow discipline, and organisational skills.
* Clear communicator, able to articulate design decisions to diverse stakeholders.
* Self-motivated, collaborative, and thrives in a global creative environment.
Bonus Skills * Understanding of diverse reader demographics and genre-specific design approaches.
* Passion for books, reading, and their cultural impact.
Your Portfolio Should Include * Strong typography and thoughtful layout work.
* Examples of adapting or enhancing artwork while maintaining brand integrity.
* Projects demonstrating attention to detail and narrative storytelling through design.
* Evidence of work in marketing campaigns, literary retail, or POS environments.
