Procurement & Supply Chain Manager (Construction)
Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Hybrid & Flexible Working)
Salary: £65,000 to £70,000
An established organisation delivering a major long-term infrastructure programme in the North West is seeking an experienced Procurement and Supply Chain Manager. You will play a key role in shaping sourcing strategies, leading a skilled team and supporting a multi-year construction and infrastructure transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop sourcing and contracting solutions for a 10+ year investment programme
- Create and deliver construction focused procurement strategies
- Lead and develop a team of supply chain professionals
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle from tender development to contract award
- Negotiate and finalise supplier and contractor agreements
- Oversee contract performance and manage strategic supplier relationships
- Coordinate procurement activity and resolve supplier and customer issues
- Support bid and budget activity
- Provide clear reporting and stakeholder engagement throughout
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong experience in construction supply chain or procurement
- Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
- Background in developing construction sourcing strategies
- Understanding of procurement processes and commercial approaches
- Experience managing supplier performance
- Proven leadership capability
Desirable:
- Client-side experience
- MCIPS
- Experience in public sector or regulated environments
