Salary: £50,000 per annum
Contract: Fixed-Term (22 months)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Location: Canterbury
Are you a dynamic and driven Business Development professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real impact? Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team on a 22-month fixed-term contract. This role offers the chance to work within a unique and inspiring environment, supporting specialist heritage craft teams and driving growth through new business opportunities.
About the Role
As Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in generating income by targeting new external markets and projects. You’ll work closely with internal teams to develop robust business plans, manage contracts, and implement effective processes that minimise risk while maximising opportunity.
Key responsibilities include:
*Developing 5-year business plans for heritage craft skills.
*Researching external markets and competitors to identify growth opportunities.
*Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients locally, nationally, and internationally.
*Leading on tender submissions and writing compelling proposals.
*Supporting contract management, financial monitoring, and operational planning.
*Driving commercial success while safeguarding internal commitments.
What We’re Looking For
*Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
*Proven track record in business development and winning bids/tenders.
*Strong financial and commercial awareness.
*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*Knowledge of JCT and construction industry contracts.
*Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
*Proficiency in MS Office and strong administrative skills.
Desirable:
*Business management or financial qualification.
*Experience in heritage craft or complex organisations.
*Knowledge of CIS legislation.
