Key Responsibilities
*Manage, mentor, and develop a team of delivery drivers.
*Ensure compliance with transport regulations, driver hours, and safety policies.
*Plan and optimise delivery routes for efficiency and customer satisfaction.
*Coordinate delivery schedules with production and customer service teams.
*Monitor and control delivery costs, fuel expenses, and vehicle maintenance budgets.
*Manage relationships with shipping partners (e.g., Parcelforce, DHL) and oversee international shipping.
*Handle customs documentation and ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
*Analyse delivery performance metrics and implement continuous improvements.
*Resolve escalated customer delivery issues.
*Conduct driver performance reviews, training, and disciplinary procedures.
*Maintain accurate records and produce management reports.
*Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and properly maintained.
*Oversee driver recruitment and induction processes.
Personal Competencies
*Previous management or supervisory experience in logistics or transport operations.
*Strong knowledge of driving rules and vehicle regulations.
*Experience with route planning and multi-drop deliveries.
*Proven track record in cost management and budget control.
*Experience working with third-party logistics providers and international shipping.
*Strong analytical skills for performance monitoring and process improvement.
*Excellent communication skills across all levels.
*Strong customer service skills.
*IT proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office.
*Own transport required due to rural location.
*Full UK driving licence essential.
*Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
*Eagerness to develop the team and contribute to growth objectives, including international expansion.
Hours of Work
*40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexibility required).
