Warehouse Operative / Driver
Up to £28,000 per annum, Outskirts of Uckfield, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, Permanent, Generous holiday allowance, Pension, Free parking, Training, Progression and Christmas shutdown.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly established, family-run organisation within the food packaging industry. As a Warehouse Operative / Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth warehouse operations and efficient delivery of goods to customers. Working as part of a friendly and professional team, you will contribute to maintaining excellent service standards and operational efficiency.
*Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for delivery
*Loading and unloading goods safely and accurately
*Assisting with route planning to optimise time and fuel usage
*Maintaining accurate stock records and participating in regular stock checks
*Rotating perishable items and monitoring expiry dates
*Reporting vehicle maintenance and safety issues promptly
*Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times
*Providing excellent customer service during deliveries
Driving Duties (approximately 20% of the role)
*Driving a delivery vehicle to surrounding counties, including different areas each day (as far as North London/Essex and Hampshire)
*Completing all runs within the day - no overnight stays required
*Making approximately 10 deliveries per day
*Driving a standard 3.5 tonne maximum vehicle (can be driven on a standard full UK driving licence)
*Minor offences acceptable (maximum 6 points)
*Due to company insurance restrictions, you must be 25 years or older to drive the company vehicle
Requirements
A full UK driving licence is essential (maximum 6 points for minor offences). Due to insurance requirements, you must be aged 25 or over. Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, and a forklift licence would be an advantage. You should be physically capable of manual handling and lifting, able to work on your own initiative, and demonstrate reliability and strong communication skills.

This role could suit someone who has worked as a Warehouse Operative, Delivery Driver, or Logistics Assistant.
