Job Description:
About the Role:
Prospero Teaching are seeking a committed and supportive SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a friendly primary school in Maghull. The school provides excellent provision for pupils with additional needs and is looking for a TA who can offer consistency, patience and high-quality support.
You will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, such as Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role includes both one-to-one support and small group interventions, helping pupils engage with learning, regulate their emotions and develop essential skills.
Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with SEND in a primary school environment
* Work closely with the class teacher to deliver adapted learning
* Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual behaviour plans
* Encourage independence, confidence and positive routines
* Promote emotional wellbeing and strong communication skills
* Maintain a safe, calm and inclusive learning space
Essential Requirements:
* Experience supporting children with SEND
* A patient, nurturing and flexible approach
* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
* Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
