Philanthropy Manager
Location: City of London
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £45,283.43
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Hours: 39 hours per week
We are working with a well-established London-based charity that supports thousands of people each year, we are recruiting an ambitious Philanthropy Manager to join their fundraising team at a pivotal moment of growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a high-impact role in shaping and significantly expanding the charity’s philanthropy programme, with a focus on major donors, individual giving, and legacies.
Role Overview
*Take a lead role in shaping and growing our philanthropy programme with a particular focus on major donor relationships, five- and six-figure gifts, and legacy giving
*Build, inspire, and personally steward a portfolio of high-value supporters and prospects
*Work closely with the Head of Philanthropy to create tailored cultivation and stewardship plans and write compelling, high-quality proposals and reports
*Develop and deliver individual-giving and legacy-marketing campaigns
*Line-manage the Senior Supporter Care and Finance Coordinator
*Manage complex, cross-team projects and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation
*Ensure all activity is GDPR-compliant and follows best-practice safeguarding principles
Requirements
*Proven track record of securing and stewarding five- and six-figure gifts from individual donors
*Significant experience of building long-term relationships with high-value supporters
*Strong experience of individual-giving and/or legacy fundraising campaigns
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to write persuasive, tailored proposals and present with confidence
*Experience of line management or leading project teams/volunteers
*Highly organised, numerate, and able to manage a busy pipeline and meet income targets
*Confident user of CRM databases, email marketing platforms, and Microsoft Office
*Creative and strategic thinker with a passion for innovation in fundraising
*A clear understanding of GDPR and safeguarding in a charity context
*Empathy with our mission and a commitment to supporting people affected by domestic abuse, modern slavery, and mental health challenges
*Lived experience of the issues we support is welcomed and valued
