Reed are delighted to be working with a long standing law firm, with a strong reputation in the local market. They have approached us to support them with their search to hire a new Management Accountant based out of their head office in Bromley in Kent/South East London.
As an experienced accounting and finance professional, and with proven management accountancy experience, you will be joining a law firm that is going through an exciting stage of the firm’s growth, and you will work alongside a well established team, and support both the Practice Manager and the Partners of the firm, making a significant contribution to their phase of expansion. You will be joining a practice with an excellent working environment, and a firm that has a reputation for retaining it’s employees, and long tenure.
As the newly appointed Management Accountant, your duties and responsibilities will include :
*Preparing monthly management accounts, which will include profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
*Responsible for delivering analysis, and financial reporting for the Managing Partner.
*Oversee cash flow management and forecasting.
*Maintain accurate accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
*Manage and process monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements and timely submission of PAYE and pension contributions.
*Reconcile client accounts in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
*Oversee VAT returns, tax submissions, and statutory filings.
As the new Management Accountant, your skillsets, experience and attributes will include :
*Over 3 years experience in management accounting or accountancy role gained within a law firm.
*Proven experience in payroll processing and compliance.
*An understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
*Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-finance colleagues in the firm.
*A working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs).
Our client will consider either a fully qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA). They use specific legal accounting software which includes Proclaim & Actionstep, so a working knowledge of either would be beneficial.
Salary range is between £40,000 & £50,000 per annum and is offered dependent on experience.
