Qualified Social Worker - Children in Care Team - Doncaster Council This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Children in Care Team at Doncaster Council. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive outcomes for children and young people who are looked after by the local authority. This position offers a chance to make a real difference, contributing to stability and planning for some of the borough’s most vulnerable residents. Job Summary * Working within the statutory framework to deliver services to children and young people who are looked after.
* Focusing on achieving permanence and stability for children, either through reunification, Special Guardianship Orders, or adoption.
* Preparing and presenting reports for statutory reviews, court hearings, and planning meetings.
* Collaborating with a wide range of professionals, including foster carers, schools, health services, and external agencies.
* Holding a manageable and varied caseload, prioritising effective time management and decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities * Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and their families to inform effective care planning.
* Formulate, implement, and review personalised Care Plans for children, ensuring their voice is heard throughout the process.
* Provide direct support and intervention to children, promoting their health, education, and emotional well-being.
* Manage complex cases, including those involving neglect, abuse, and significant life changes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records on the designated social care database, adhering to all statutory requirements.
* Participate in court proceedings by providing detailed evidence and professional recommendations.
* Work collaboratively with foster carers to support placement stability and address challenges.
* Attend and contribute to regular supervision, team meetings, and training sessions.
