Reed Finance are recruiting for a Head of Finance on behalf of our client, a prestigious and highly respected organisation on the outskirts of Crawley. This role will oversee their daily financial operations and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
This role is office based and due to the rural setting of their premises and limited public transport options, being a driver is essential.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Monthly production and distribution of management accounts, including variance analysis.
*Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
*Manage quarterly VAT returns and the annual VAT adjustment, liaising with HMRC and external advisors to ensure accuracy.
*Review the nominal ledger, perform journal entries and maintain a monthly journal file for review.
*Produce and distribute monthly department budget reports to budget holders.
*Assist in the creation budgets and forecasts, including cash flow analysis.
*Implement a new accounting system in collaboration with the Group Financial Controller.
*Prepare for the annual external audit by managing lead schedules and providing information to auditors.
*Supervise three Finance Assistants, including conducting their annual appraisals and overseeing their development.
*Oversee the management of the fixed asset register and the purchase and sales ledger function.
