Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Reinsurance Claims Manager on behalf of one of the leading insurers in the Lloyd’s of London insurance market.
Role Summary
The Reinsurance Claims Manager will proactively manage the portfolio, comprising Casualty Treaty, Marine Treaty, Property Treaty, and Aviation Treaty claims. The role is responsible for the oversight of all reinsurance claims adjustment in the UK, ensuring high-quality, timely, and fair evaluation and settlement of claims.
Key Responsibilities
*Portfolio Management: Lead and manage all aspects of the UK reinsurance claims portfolio. Ensure timely, accurate assessment and fair settlement of claims, maintaining close control over high-profile, complex, and catastrophe losses.
*Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, cedants, underwriters, actuaries, brokers, finance, and outwards reinsurance.
*Collaboration and Reporting: Facilitate effective communication and information sharing with global claims teams, especially with Bermuda and Singapore offices.
*Team Leadership and Development: Inspire, guide, and empower a high-performing claims team.
*Strategic Projects and Change: Actively participate in and lead strategic projects and group-wide initiatives, supporting the continuous evolution of the claims function and contributing to the wider business strategy.
Key Requirements
*Proven technical expertise in reinsurance claims, with strong knowledge of market trends, contractual terms, and the evolving risk landscape.
*Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team.
*Experience in the London market is highly advantageous; knowledge of Lloyd’s and Bermuda markets preferred.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the Company professionally and build influential relationships at all levels.
*Strong commitment to customer service, accountability, and driving and implementing change.
*Recognised industry qualification (e.g., ACII, ARe, AIC) preferred.
