Job Description:
Elevation Recruitment Group are supporting a leading engineering business in Shipley who are looking to bring an experienced Rotary Grinding Machinist into their team.
Rotary Grinding Machinist
Shipley
Rotating shifts – morning, afternoon and night
Up to 48,000 per year including shift allowance

The Role
As the Rotary Grinding Machinist, you will be responsible for setting and operating rotary grinding machines to produce precision components.
Your duties will include:
*Set up and operate rotary grinding machines following standard procedures
*Grind precision parts to drawing specifications, including deburring and part marking
*Inspect finished components to ensure compliance with quality standards
*Monitor wheel life, perform wheel changes, and escalate any material, tooling, or machine issues promptly
*Track material movements, downtime, and part quantities using both manual and computer systems
*Complete pre-use inspections and report hazards or faults immediately
*Carry out asset care tasks in line with scheduled maintenance requirements
*Monitor coolant levels and concentrations; clean tanks as necessary
*Provide clear and accurate handovers between shifts to maintain continuity
*Support quality investigations and uphold housekeeping and 6S standards
*Offer on-the-job training to new and existing team members
*Log material movements accurately using computer systems and scanners
About You
*Completed an apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Grinding, Milling, or Turning
*Skilled in producing complex components in small batch runs
*Strong understanding of engineering principles and NC control systems
*Familiar with quality standards, systems, and compliance procedures
*Committed to maintaining a safety-first approach in all tasks
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
*Highly organised and methodical, capable of working independently and managing priorities
*Flexible, dedicated, and eager to learn and develop new skills
