Job Description:
Stockroom Supervisor – Main Responsibilities
*Inventory Management: Oversee receiving, storage, and issuing of goods; maintain stock levels; conduct cycle counts; resolve discrepancies; ensure organized and labelled stock areas.
*Staff Supervision: Lead, train, and schedule stockroom team; assign tasks; monitor performance; ensure safety and operational compliance.
*Stockroom Operations: Coordinate deliveries; manage picking, packing, dispatch, returns, and damaged goods; maintain equipment.
*Documentation & Reporting: Maintain inventory records; prepare reports; ensure audit compliance; process shipment and transfer paperwork.
*Health, Safety & Compliance: Enforce safe handling and storage; maintain a clean, hazard-free stockroom; ensure policy and legal compliance.
*Communication & Coordination: Liaise with purchasing, production, sales, and logistics; report shortages or delays; resolve stock-related issues.
Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in stockroom, warehouse, or inventory management roles, ideally within a fast-paced retail or distribution environment. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, along with confidence in using inventory systems, handling documentation, and maintaining accurate records. Experience supervising or training team members is highly desirable, as the role involves leading a small stock team and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The successful applicant will be comfortable coordinating deliveries, resolving stock discrepancies, and working collaboratively with multiple departments to keep workflows efficient and on schedule.
