Job Description:
Centre Manager
*Job Type: Temporary, Part-time (Office Based)
*Location: Bury, BL9 0SW
*Duration: till 31/03/2026
*Pay: £16.08 per hour (PAYE)
*Working Hours: 9am till 1pm (Monday-Friday)
Join Bury Council as a Centre Manager, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operational and management aspects of their business centre. This position is key to ensuring the centre operates efficiently, remains commercially viable, and provides top-notch service to its users and occupiers.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
*Marketing and Letting: Manage the marketing and letting of all units within the centre, ensuring completion of licences for occupation.
*Centre Management: Oversee the centre’s cost-effectiveness, including responsibility for promotions, advertising, and marketing of the centre and vacant units.
*Performance Review: Conduct periodic reviews of current practices in business centres, gather and interpret customer feedback to enhance service delivery.
*Financial Reporting: Provide regular financial reports to the Principal Surveyor and Head of Service, manage contracts, and handle budgeting and financial reconciliations.
*Customer Service: Act as the primary contact for all customer enquiries, handling queries, complaints, and suggestions, and maintaining a comprehensive, computerised list of all users and occupiers.
*Operational Compliance: Ensure compliance with established operational procedures, manage safety practices, and oversee the maintenance of internal and external common areas.
*Security and Emergency Management: Manage security measures, be available for emergency responses outside office hours, and maintain high standards of safety and security throughout the centre.
*Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records, manage billing processes for utilities and services, and handle document management using the Agresso P2P system.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience: Proven track record in facility or centre management, preferably within a business centre environment.
*Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
*Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
*Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer systems, particularly Agresso P2P, and a solid understanding of financial reporting and contract management.
*Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
