Job Description:
Fantastic Part Time HR Manager opportunity available working for a leading not for profit organisation based in Tyne and Wear. This role is working on a part time basis 3 days per week on a Fixed Term Contract basis for 12 months. This role requires 2 days working in the office as a minimum each week and they would consider one day working at home.
In this role you will lead on employee relations working closely with the Deputy CEO and other managers to support them in the application of HR policies and procedures and provide expert advice on employment relations matters. The person appointment would report directly to the Deputy CEO.
Duties and responsibilities include:
People Management
• Provide a comprehensive HR service covering employee relations, workforce, planning and culture development
• Deal with absence management, applications for compassionate leave
• Proved expert advice and support on employee grievance, disciplinary and performance management
• Escalate high risk or complex employee relations to the Deputy CEO or external advisers where appropriate
• Provide HR support at investigation meetings, including the preparation of cases and production of minutes, including sending disciplinary letters
• Support the recruitment process including the production of job pack
• Support the Senior Management team in dealing with trade union matters
• Manage a log of HR policies and procedure, overseeing their updating and dissemination. Work with Deputy CEO and other parties to draft, update and communicate HR policies and procedures
HR Operations
• Ensure HR systems, processes and documentation are accurate, up to date and compliant with employment law and GDPR and audit requirements.
• Manage issuing employment contracts, undertake right to work checks, DBS and other relevant checks.
• Ensure staff are aware of Employee Assistance Programme and other benefits.
• Produce management information for Senior Management including monitoring of absence levels.
• Identify own training and development needs and agree with the Deputy CEO on appropriate training and development to be undertaken.
Person Specification
• Qualified to CIPD level 5 and evidence of continuous profession development and learning
• Proven experience in HR/People roles including management of employee relations cases ( grievance, disciplinary, performance management)
• Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
• Understanding of the application of data protection and equality legislation
• Experience drafting HR polices and procedures
• Ability to deal with demanding and multiple tasks at any one time and to prioritise work load
• Ability to apply legal and professional expertise appropriately, to give sound practical advice, guidance and support to managers and staff on HR matters
• Excellent IT skills and familiarity with online HR packages
The salary is paying £40,000 Full Time Equivalent salary pro rata to 3 days per week part time hours (Full time equivalent hours are 37 hours per week).
