Job Description:
Outreach Tutor/Teacher (SEN & SEMH) – Start ASAP£30–£35 per hour | 1–1 Home-Based Teaching | English & Maths (GCSE)
We are seeking a dedicated Outreach Tutor/Teacher to work 1–1 with students who are currently on waitlists for specialist school placements or are at risk of exclusion. These learners have SEN and/or SEMH needs and require patient, tailored support to help them stay engaged in education.
About the Role*Provide 2 hours of teaching daily: 1 hour of English and 1 hour of Maths per student.
*Initially working with one student, with potential for your caseload to increase as new referrals come in.
*Sessions take place in the student’s home with a parent/carer present.
*Plan and deliver engaging, individualised learning to support progress and confidence.
*You must be able to teach both English and Maths up to GCSE level.
Ideal CandidatesWe welcome applications from:
*Qualified teachers with SEN/SEND experience
*Anyone who has worked as an Outreach Tutor/Teacher and is comfortable with 1–1, home-based learning
*Professionals with outreach, alternative provision, or PRU experience
*Individuals who are patient, adaptable, and confident supporting students with SEMH needs
Requirements*Experience working with SEN/SEMH students
*Able to teach GCSE English AND Maths
*Strong behaviour-management and relationship-building skills
*Reliable, consistent, and able to start ASAP
*Comfortable delivering tuition in the student’s home
Pay£30–£35 per hour (depending on experience)
