Key Responsibilities * Assist teaching staff in implementing differentiated learning activities and targeted interventions.

* Provide direct support to pupils with ALN, ensuring access to learning in line with individual development plans (IDPs).

* Support personal care routines where required, including feeding, mobility assistance, and hygiene tasks.

* Contribute to behaviour-regulation and communication strategies in line with school policies.

* Monitor and record pupil progress, noting changes in behaviour, engagement, or wellbeing.

* Maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment and follow all safeguarding and health-and-safety protocols.

* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external agencies as directed.

* Assist with preparation of classroom materials and structured learning resources.

Essential Criteria * Experience supporting children or young people with ALN in educational, clinical, or care settings.

* Ability to follow detailed plans and deliver consistent, structured support.

* Strong communication skills with pupils, staff, and families.

* Reliability, professional conduct, and the capacity to work within multidisciplinary teams.

* Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in a school environment.

Desirable Criteria * Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).

* Experience working in a special school or specialist provision.
