Job Description:
We’re seeking a dependable and organised Administrative Support Professional to join our growing electrical business, currently delivering around £15m of work each year. The role sits at the heart of our operations, supporting office functions, project teams, and field engineers. You’ll help keep processes running smoothly, maintain accurate records, and play an important part in upholding our health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
General Administration
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the management team, project managers, and engineers.
Prepare job packs, update project documentation, and maintain accurate records across multiple projects.
Organise site visits, schedule appointments, and support diary management for engineers and supervisors.
Assist with purchasing activities, including raising purchase orders, tracking deliveries
Maintain electronic and paper filing systems, ensuring information is organised, secure, and easy to access.
Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and colleagues.
Contribute to general office tasks such as printing, scanning, stock control, and maintaining office supplies.
Health & Safety Support
Assist in maintaining and updating health & safety documentation, including RAMS, training records, inductions, and site-specific files.
Ensure engineers’ certificates, CSCS/ECS cards, and training compliance are kept up to date and stored accurately.
Support the tracking and logging of incident reports, near misses, and corrective actions.
Maintain records for PAT testing, equipment checks, and calibration schedules.
Help ensure visitors, subcontractors, and new starters receive appropriate safety information and inductions.
Work closely with management to support ongoing compliance with company, client, and industry safety standards.
Skills & Experience
Previous administrative experience, ideally within an electrical, construction, engineering, or similar industry woukld be beneficial but not essential.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks across busy project environments.
Confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to learn internal systems quickly.
Excellent communication skills and a professional approach both in the office and when dealing with external partners.
Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining accurate records.
Experience working with H&S documentation or compliance processes is beneficial but not essential.
Personal Qualities
Friendly, approachable, and supportive in day-to-day interactions.
Proactive and able to anticipate what needs doing in a fast-paced environment.
Calm under pressure, adaptable when priorities shift, and comfortable working with multiple teams.
