Job Description:
KS1 Teaching Assistant - Camden
Start: ASAP - July 2026
Full Time: 8:30am - 4:00pm
Accessible by bus or tube - nearest station is Warren Street
Tradewind are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Camden, which has an excellent SEN provision. They are seeking a committed and caring Year 2 Teaching Assistant to work within this, supporting pupils within complex ASD. This is a rewarding long-term role working with children who access a personalised curriculum.
Role Overview - SEN Teaching Assistant
* Supporting pupils with ASD in a Year 2 provision
* Delivering personalised curriculum activities such as art, sensory play, singing, motor skills and more
* Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team
* Encouraging engagement, communication and independence
* Implementing structured interventions
* PECS and Attention Autism experience is desirable
The ideal TA will have:
* Strong behaviour management
* Be nurturing, calm and caring
* Good oracy and communication skills
* Passionate, committed and reliable
* Excellent time-keeping
* Patient, resilient and able to follow routines
* Must not have any holidays or term-time leave booked
Compliance Requirements for a TA
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
* Right to work in the UK
* Two references for roles that cover the last 2 years
* Full employment history with explanations for any gaps
* Proof of address
* Overseas police checks if applicable
