Job Description:
Reed Accountancy are delighted to be working with a growing SME, committed to delivering exceptional service to their clients. As part of their continued growth, as part of their growth, they are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This position involves managing core accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and contributing to the smooth running of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
*Process sales and purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
*Maintain supplier and customer records.
*Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow reporting.
*Post journals and maintain the nominal ledger.
*Assist with month-end and year-end processes.
*Prepare and process monthly payroll, including PAYE and statutory deductions.
*Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
*Assist with VAT returns and other statutory filings.
*Respond to internal and external queries promptly and professionally.
Skills & Experience Required
*Previous experience in an accounts or finance role (preferably within an SME environment).
*Strong knowledge of accounting principles and payroll processes.
*Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel essential).
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
