Senior Payroll Administrator

Job Description:
My client is looking to recruit a Senior Payroll Administrator for a 12 month fixed-term contract.
As the Senior Payroll Administrator you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and work as part of a small , friendly payroll team where you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and accurate payroll operation.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing end-to-end processes, including starters and leavers
*Maintain accurate records of payroll data for multiple payrolls
*Review and verify timesheets
*Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments
*Submission of statutory returns to HMRC
*Processing statutory deductions
*Respond to employee payroll queries with professionalism and care
*Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment of employee data and benefits
*Support audits and compliance checks by preparing relevant documentation
*Third party records, i.e. AEO’s, pensions
*Other ad hoc payroll reports as required
*Train and mentor junior payroll staff as needed
*Liaise with other departments in a friendly and professional manner

Experience
*Experience of working in a similar role will be preferred
*Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with strict reporting deadlines

Qualifications and training
*GCSE Maths and English - Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
*A-Level Maths is desirable
*CIPP is desirable

*Strong communication, listening and problem-solving skills
*Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
*Demonstrates a high level of discretion and confidentiality

*Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
*Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems
