SEN Teaching Assistant (Fixed Term)
*Annual Salary Range: £18,459 - £19,050 (pro-rata)
*Location: PL1, Plymouth
*Job Type: Term-time only, Fixed Term (January to July)
Reed, working in partnership with a local educational trust, is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting individuals and small groups of pupils with SEN and emotional needs within a classroom setting. It is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is hardworking, friendly, and passionate about supporting young children’s learning.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and emotional challenges.
*Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure pupils’ specific needs are met.
*Assist in the development of social skills and behaviours by interacting positively with all pupils.
*Monitor and record pupils’ progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents to better support the pupils’ development.
*Facilitate a safe and supportive learning environment for all pupils.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Level 2 Early Years Qualification (or equivalent).
*Effective communication skills with both children and adults.
*Experience working with SEN children is preferable but not mandatory.
*Ability to work collaboratively in a team, adaptable to new ideas and practices.
*A fast and highly flexible thinker, capable of dealing with change and unpredictability with a positive ’can-do’ attitude.
