Role Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our expanding Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, supporting financial reporting and assisting with forecasting, budgeting and process/system improvements.
The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and detail oriented demonstrating a high level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience working in a fast paced environment will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
*Prepare and post monthly journals and produce a full set of management accounts
*Work closely with the Financial Controller to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting
*Support in measuring the Company’s financial performance based on financial records and reporting
*Identifying problem areas and presenting recommendations to the Financial Controller
*Collaborate with the Accounts Assistant to ensure smooth day-to-day finance operations
*Prepare cashflow statements, forecasts, and assist with annual budget preparation
*Support external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations
*Assist with accounting system migration and process improvements
*Evaluating and monitoring financial information systems and recommending improvements where needed
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
*Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar management accounting role
*ACCA, CIMA or part-qualified accountant (AAT qualified considered)
*Strong understanding of journal posting, reconciliations, and month-end processes
*Excellent analytical and communication skills
*Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems
*Attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
*Experience supporting payroll processing
*Experience with Sage accounting system
*Experience in Factory/Production or FMCG environment an advantage
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: £35, 000- £40, 000
Benefits:
*Competitive hourly rate or salary (based on experience)
*20 days holiday plus bank holidays
*2/3 days gifted by the Company for Christmas/New Year
*Early Friday finish time of 3.00pm, for all employees
*No company sick pay (Statutory Sick Pay, SSP only)
*Quarterly Bonus Scheme- In Place for hourly paid Production/Workshop employees
*Overtime available
