Job Description:
The Role The Operations Manager will oversee all operational activity within the distribution centre, ensuring efficiency, safety and high-quality service delivery. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving performance, improving processes, and supporting the wider business as it continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities * Lead all operational functions with full accountability for cost control, productivity, and service performance.

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, using Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste.

* Promote and maintain a strong, proactive safety culture while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

* Foster cross-functional collaboration and ensure operational flexibility to meet customer expectations.

* Support, develop and coach team members, promoting a positive and high-performing culture.

* Ensure stock accuracy and smooth coordination across warehousing, delivery, and customer service teams.

* Analyse operational data, creating actionable insights to influence decision-making.

* Produce performance reports and operational updates for senior management.

* Support the rollout and adoption of new systems, technologies, and processes.

* Encourage accountability, teamwork, and communication across all departments.

* Address performance issues, resolve conflicts and manage challenging conversations effectively.

* Respond quickly and effectively to changing operational demands.

* Maintain high standards of quality, product condition, security, and presentation.

* Work closely with customer service and sales teams to resolve order or delivery queries promptly.

* Demonstrate flexibility during peak periods, supporting extended hours where required.

About You * At least 5 years’ experience in an operational management role, ideally within FMCG, distribution, or a similar fast-paced environment.

* Strong communicator who can build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation.

* Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic setting.

* Strong analytical mindset with experience turning data into operational decisions.

* Skilled in leadership, planning, and problem-solving.

* Proficient in ERP and Warehouse Management Systems, with experience supporting the introduction of new technologies.

* Resilient, adaptable, and confident managing both people and processes.

* Demonstrated experience in recruitment, coaching and team development.
