SEN Teacher
*Annual Salary: Paid to scale
*Location: Somerset
*Job Type: Full-time
Join a leading SEN school dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to students aged 10-16 with special educational needs. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Teacher to help us nurture and educate students with diverse learning needs and behavioural challenges.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Plan, prepare, and deliver educational programs and activities specifically designed to meet the unique learning needs of students aged 10-16.
*Create engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lesson plans that cater to a range of learning abilities and styles within the SEN framework.
*Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students.
*Collaborate with other educational staff, therapists, and specialists to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
*Provide personalised support to students, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs and ensuring their educational success.
*Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with the latest educational practices relevant to special educational needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong preference for additional qualifications in special education.
*Experience in teaching or a similar role within an SEN setting, particularly with students aged 10-16.
*Deep understanding of the educational, social, and behavioural challenges faced by students with special needs.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage students and work effectively with parents and other staff.
*Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to education, with a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
*A proactive attitude towards professional development and learning in the field of special education.
